Nana Grants Recipients are required to take at least 6 credit hours each semester to maintain child care payments. If you are unable to fulfill this requirement, let us know immediately so we can work together on an action plan.
If you need to make any changes to your current academic program (e.g., changing your major or institution), you must notify Nana Grants BEFORE the start of the semester in which these changes will take effect.
If you do not plan to enroll in an upcoming semester, you must notify Nana Grants BEFORE the start of that semester.
If you need to stop attending classes in the middle of a semester due to funding, a medical emergency, or other unforeseen circumstance, you must notify Nana Grants within 10 days of your first missed class.
If you continue to receive child care payments and do not inform Nana Grants of any changes to your college program or attendance in a timely manner, your grant will immediately be put on hold and you may be expelled from the program.
-
Attendance reports are due every Sunday by 11:59 pm. You will receive a reminder email every Friday with a link to submit your report. If you don’t receive this email, please reach out to admin@nanagrants.org or call 470-279-2496 to have the email resent.

Yes. You do still need to submit an attendance report even if your child misses a week with their care provider. Submit your weekly report as usual, but put $0 for the fee, select any day for “days attended,” and include a note saying that your child was absent that week.
Most providers also require full tuition even when your child is absent. Please confirm with your provider before submitting a $0 attendance report.
If you expect that your child will be absent for more than one week, please inform us ahead of time or as soon as possible by emailing admin@nanagrants.org or calling us at 470-279-2496.
-
If you would like to change or add a new child care provider, you can reach out to us at admin@nanagrants.org or call 470-279-2496 to request a New Provider Registration form. Please give us and your current child care provider at least two weeks notice prior to changing providers.
Nana Grants does not pay late fees or tuition resulting from insufficient notice to withdraw to your provider.
-
Yes. We are working on a portal for grant recipients to update their own information. But for the time being, please call us at 470-279-2496 and we will help you add another child to your profile.
-
If you miss a week for your child’s attendance report, you will need to submit an extra attendance report by the following Sunday deadline. Make sure to include the date for the week you missed.
If you forget to submit your attendance report on time, your payment will be delayed by one week. Nana Grants does not pay for any late fees that result from this delay.
-
Generally, a Nana Grant can only be used for one care provider per child at a time.
Your grant may be used for an approved after-school program in addition to your regular care provider, but that must be reviewed and approved prior to your child’s attendance.
Please reach out to us at admin@nanagrants.org for after school program approvals.
-

-
Nana Grants is only to be used for Quality Rated and licensed child care providers or school-affiliated after-school programs.
Programs like athletic teams, music classes, dance lessons, etc. that are not run by or in partnership with your child’s school as an after-school program are not covered by Nana Grants.
-
If you’re experiencing academic or personal challenges that are affecting your progress in school, please let us know. We may be able to connect you with other organizations that can help with support outside of the scope of Nana Grants. We would like to help in any way we can to ensure you can keep your Nana Grant through your full program. Nana Grants requires a 2.0 GPA to maintain your child care funding. Any student whose GPA falls below 2.0 will be placed on probation and given one semester to bring their GPA back up.
-
Generally, your Nana Grant can only be used to cover child care for the full length of one college degree or certification program. If you believe that a second degree is necessary to achieve the career goals expressed in your application, you can complete a Grant Extension Request which will be reviewed by our staff to determine if an extension can be granted.
-
Nana Grants has a strict part-time requirement (six or more semester credit hours per semester) for all students. If you are unable to fulfill this requirement for any reason you must let us know before the semester begins. If your enrollment changes during the semester, you must let us know immediately. Failure to notify Nana Grants of a change in your enrollment will result in your grant being put on-hold and possible expulsion from the program.
